Overview
Centre for Stem Cells Sciences, Hyderabad was formerly known as Centre for Liver Research and Diagnostics (CLRD) and was established as an advanced centre for research and excellence in the area of liver diseases under the leadership of Prof.C. M. Habibullah. The primary object of this unit is to carry out the extensive work at both the basic and applied aspects in the area of Heptology and Digestive Sciences. The institute has the state-of-art infrastructure to carry out the work at biochemical, cellular and molecular aspects of Hepatology and Digestive Sciences. There are a number of ongoing collaborative projects, which are supported by the prestigious funding agencies such as ICMR, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of Science and Technology (DST), CSIR, Government of India, Intrapace Inc., California. This institute has been recognized for Ph.D programme by the Osmania University, Hyderabad and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. Short-term project training is given to under-graduate and post-graduate students from various universities.

CSCS focuses on stem cell research and development, stem cell production, stem cell therapies, stem cell based cord blood bank while simultaneously imparting advanced learning aimed at expanding and adding to the body of scientific knowledge. To achieve our aim, CSCS plans to undertake research and development through a transparent structure aided by a set of highly focused wholly owned subsidiaries. CSCS focuses on research and development in stem cells, stem cell therapies through our state of the art hospital, and advanced learning in the area. Facilities
CSCS is in the process of expansion to add to its present facilities. These additions will not only increase the physical infrastructure but will also add to our existing state-of-the-art facilities. Our present facilities include among others Gel Doc, PCR Gradient, Microfuges, Micropippets, Vortex Mixers, Ultrafreezers, Real Time PCRs, Analytical Balancers, Cyotspins, Spectrophotometers, HPLCs, Plasmid Vaccum Manifolds, among others. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has been magnanimous in allotting us land in Hyderabad to expand our stem cell R&D, production, hospital and other facilities. We are adding among others clean surgical room, additional deep freezers, elutrator centrigue, ultracentrifuge, Plasmapheresis, liver dialysis system, Laminar flows and cell separators among others.
